Gudi Padwa 2024
Celebration into new year
Happy Gudi Padwa!
Celebrate the arrival of spring and new beginnings with Gudi Padwa, the Maharashtrian New Year! This vibrant festival falls on the first day of Chaitra month in the Hindu calendar, which is typically in April (this year it’s on April 9th, 2024).
People decorate their homes with colorful rangoli and raise the symbolic gudi, a cloth adorned with flowers, mango leaves, and a sweet garland. Gudi Padwa signifies prosperity, triumph of good over evil, and the harvest season.
Join the festivities by sharing a sweet treat called puran poli and soaking in the joyous atmosphere!
