74th Indian Republic Day celebrations

Presence at Munich Consulate

On 26.01.2023, the Indian Consulate in Munich, led by the Consul General Mr. Mohit Yadav, organized an outstanding event at the Konferenzzentrum, Munich, to mark the 74th Indian Republic day.

Republic day celebrations in Munich

The event had a significant representation from the governments of Bayern and Baden Württemberg, from the German judiciary and from several other facets of the society, including few key members of the Indian associations. After the welcome address by the Consul General and an address by the chief guest, there were about five dance performances by some of the best known Indian classical dancers/artists who are living in Germany. Their performances were indeed of the highest order and the audiences were enthralled to see such outstanding demonstration of the Indian classical art that has been acquired over several years of learning, with utmost dedication and love.

Since some time, the Indian Consulate in Munich has been graciously accepting the celebratory invitations of the Indian associations that are operating in the states of Bayern and BW. The Consul for Culture & information, along with the Consulate team, has not only been personally attending these celebrations, but has also been diligently identifying the outstanding Indian classical talent that are living in this region. About six to seven of such artists were personally called to represent India with their performances, on this special occasion of the 74th Indian Republic day. What an honour! And oh my goodness! Their performances were indeed of the highest order and the audiences were enthralled to see such outstanding demonstration of the Indian classical art that has been acquired over several years of learning, with utmost dedication and love.

Timely start, diligent planning and execution, presence of such respectful/elite dignitaries, outstanding selection and decoration of the venue and an impressive buffet dinner, truly reflected the potential, abilities and the growing stature of India, globally.. A couple of us from the IGUNU (Indian assocation in the Ulm region) had the privilege of being part of this event. Goosebumps with pride, right through the evening, is the only way our two participants felt. Truly a high-quality event with meticulous execution! Jai Hind!
