Swagatham

A short take on diwali

Swagatam (Diwali) - 2022

Challenge Taken

Closely following the formation of our e.V. was one of the biggest festivals of India, Diwali. There were requests from members to have a get together. Although time wise it was extremely challenging, it was decided that the first official celebration cannot be better than this opportunity.

Preparations Begin

Quick team planning and organization inspite of everyone’s busy routine resulted into a complete success. Responsibilities were taken with mutual understanding steadily followed by its execution. Although the demand and enthusiasm was really high amongst Indians residing in the city, due to limited space the number of participants had to be restricted.

Preparations for performances

As for the entertainment, many performers showed equal amount of interest. The scale ranged from professional to complete beginners. Similarly there was also a range from solo to small/big groups. Accordingly meetings were held and the whole organization was finalized. Keeping all possible differences and difficulties aside, they put in lots of efforts in their rehearsals which were vividly visible in all the performances.

Unexpected Surprise

A thought was shared to invite Mr. Kailash Bhatt who is the chief of the Cultural Wing at the Consulate General of India, Munich. An invitation was sent accordingly. The acceptance followed by his presence made the entire event to the organizing team and all the participants equally worthwhile.

Efficient planning by volunteers and participants equally

The smooth sailing of the entire event showed us the efforts put into the whole organization. Be it decoration, performers, filler quizzes, anchoring, DJ, photos & videos or the last but certainly not the least – food; each and everyone had done a wonderful job.

Flawless celebration

While the entire event went off really well, the other equally important part was that the time restrictions, cleanliness, co-operation that were promised were duly fulfilled. It’s important to take a note of these aspects as mostly Indians and their celebrations are popular for the wrong reasons in these fields. So be rest assured; we, the entire e.V. and its participants, know our tasks and are with you; a message that went loud and clear.
